LOS ANGELES — A company that makes a popular aerosol dispenser and can fill cigarette butts has recalled more than 1.2 million cartridges, saying they could cause cancer and other illnesses.
Affected products include the B.A.P., BAC, BBG, BBZ, Budweiser, Cigar City, C.W. Cigarette Machine, CIG, Lidl, Naughty By Nature, Old Spice, Perdue, Rocky Mountain Cigarettes, R.W., and Smokehouse brands.
The recall includes more than 200,000 products in the U.S. and Canada.
A spokeswoman for Reynolds American said the company had recalled the first 1.6 million of the product lines in the country.
The company has also recalled more in Canada.
The spokeswoman did not give details on the number of recalled products.
The company said it would issue a voluntary recall on Jan. 11 and will not offer refunds for the affected products.
It said the recall was a result of an accidental release of the aerosol filling device into the environment.
The recall was first reported by Bloomberg News and ABC News.
